Experiencing pain is normal. Living constantly in pain is not. Chronic pain is not something you choose to have - it creeps up on you, leaving you exhausted, depressed and feeling inadequate. It affects your brain and your body, interfering with mood, memory and attention. It makes activities of daily living, such as work, cleaning, cooking, and your hobbies difficult. It disrupts sleep, and can cause difficulties in your relationships with friends and family members. Living with chronic pain can lead to losing your sense of self. You feel worthless and very alone.
There is a better way to live with pain. You can have a fulfilling life after a chronic pain diagnosis - it just takes a different approach.
A Pain Coach is someone who uses an evidence-based approach to empower you with tools, skills and strategies to reduce the impact that chronic pain has on your life.
Following an in depth assessment (via questionnaires you complete as well as a virtual consultation), I will formulate a plan to address your own personal pathway to pain management.
I will help you identify and address triggers that exacerbate your pain, change lifestyle factors that aren't benefiting your overall wellbeing, and assist you with goal setting and pacing your activities to reach these goals. We work together to empower you to manage your pain and live a fulfilling life.
